START HERE!

Prep   

  • hair should be a minimum of 1/4 inch, but a bit longer will give a better result

  • double check that you don't have any contraindications - full list below

  • limit sun exposure 24 hours before and after your wax, including tanning beds

  • exfoliate 1-2 days before your wax

  • feel free to take ibuprofen 30-60 minutes prior to your wax to reduce potential pain

  • stay hydrated!

  • please avoid the use of heavy oils, lotions, makeup, deodorants, etc. on whatever area we are waxing that day, if possible

  • ensure that your intake form is filled out

  • check that you’re not accidentally scheduled for any services you no longer need!

show up  

  • make sure you’ll arrive on time! there is a 7 minute late policy to ensure the best service and experience is provided for all clients, so please plan accordingly

  • The Palms is located inside Hightide Salon in Suite 5 of the upper level. There are 2 ways to enter the building, so if you find yourself in a large, open hair salon with no individual suites to be found, head upstairs!

  • The Palms has two reserved client parking spaces (15 and 16) in the rear Clearscapes parking lot immediately behind the Hightide Salon building - feel free to park in one of these for your appointment

  • if, for some reason, the reserved spots are both taken, the surrounding lot is a pay lot, and you are welcome to park there, as well

  • please check in once you’ve arrived using the iPad provided in the upstairs lobby so I know you’re here!

  • while you wait, please help yourself to a beverage, use the restroom, or just sit in the lounge and take a minute for yourself

the No-Fly List

we are unable to wax if any of the following apply to you from the 2 weeks prior to your wax:

  • ​used products containing Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, or Vitamin A

  • taken oral or used topical acne treatment products, antibiotics, or steroids

  • received a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment

  • currently using Accutane

    *You must be completely off Accutane for a minimum of 6 months before waxing again​

  • sunburned skin or prolonged sun exposure (including tanning beds) the day of waxing

  • laser skin resurfacing treatments of any kind within the last year​​

  • any open, wounded, abraded, or irritated skin in the area to be waxed

  • fresh tattoos or piercings

  • recent or healing scar tissue

Policies

late policy​

The CLIENTS WHO ARRIVE (meaning physically present in the building and ready to start their appointment) MORE THAN 7 MINUTES PAST THEIR SCHEDULED START TIME may BE ASKED TO RESCHEDULE.​

On certain occasions, like fOR LONGER APPOINTMENTS OR MULTIPLE SERVICES, i MAY BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE PARTIAL SERVICES IN THE REMAINING TIME scheduled, HOWEVER THAT IS dependent on the schedule for the day and my ability to make it happen in the time remaining.

​ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE BOOKED FOR THE EXACT AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED. THIS SCHEDULING METHOD ENSURES I CAN DELIVER THE BEST QUALITY SERVICE, while also offering plenty of appointment times.

ANY APPOINTMENTS CANCELLED WITHIN 12 HOURS OF THE START TIME WILL INCUR A CANCELLATION FEE OF 50% OF THE FULL TOTAL SERVICE PRICE. ​

The Palms Wax STUDIO HAS A STRICT 12 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY. I will do what I can to work with you if I am able, however it’s best for everyone to simply keep your booked appointment.

​ANY MISSED APPOINTMENTS (NO SHOWS) WILL INCUR A FEE OF 50% OF THE FULL TOTAL SERVICE PRICE.
